Why is ballet not considered a sport but rather an art?

Although the primary aim of ballet is not competition but to express its artistic nature, they are often referred to as an art. Performances are centered on telling stories, music, and physical beauty. Although the physical work is similar to sports, the aim is to entertain and express emotion on the stage. Due to such creative attention, ballet has become well known as a performance art as opposed to an ordinary sport.
