First time buying in Dubai and I'm completely lost with all these spec options

I moved here from the UK six months ago and I'm finally at the point where I need to get a car, but honestly the whole process is way more complicated than I expected. Back home I'd just go to a dealership or look on Auto Trader and it was pretty straightforward, but here I keep hearing about GCC specs versus American specs versus Canadian specs, and everyone has a different opinion on which one is better. Some people tell me to only buy GCC because the cars are built for the heat, others say American specs are fine as long as you check the history, and I've even seen a few European imports that seem cheap but probably have their own issues. I don't really know enough about cars to make an informed decision and I'm worried about ending up with something that looks good but has underlying problems I won't notice until it's too late. I'm leaning toward a 2018 Toyota RAV4 because they seem reliable and parts are easy to find, but I'm still not sure how to navigate the inspection process or what I should be looking for. Someone at work mentioned a service called https://prepurchasecarinspection.ae/ that helps buyers like me who don't have a mechanic background, and I'm thinking that might be the way to go so I don't have to rely on my own limited knowledge. I guess I'm just looking for some advice from people who have been through this before, what would you tell someone who's buying their first car here and feels completely out of their depth?
